Calipari wants Kentucky Wildcats to rediscover mojo

The coaches are the same. The players haven’t changed.

But something is different about No. 1 Kentucky lately.

Though the Wildcats (15-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) still have a flawless record heading into Tuesday’s game against Missouri (7-8, 1-1), they’ve looked far from perfect in a pair of conference wins, in overtime against Ole Miss and double OT at Texas A&M.

So on Monday, coach John Calipari addressed some key questions with his team, to ask it “have we lost our edge?” “Have we lost our swagger?” Calipari said on Monday morning’s SEC coaces teleconference. “Have we lost a little bit of our focus? And then if we had, what was it? What was our swag about? What was our focus about? What was our edge? What gave us an edge?”

The answer, apparently, is rooted in defense.
