Kentucky faces another short-handed team in its quest to remain the nation’s lone unbeaten.
The top-ranked Wildcats will also try to extend their home dominance against Georgia, which will be without top scorer and rebounder Marcus Thornton again for Tuesday night’s SEC matchup.
Kentucky (21-0, 8-0) won 70-55 on Saturday against an Alabama team that was missing its second-leading scorer and now gets a Georgia squad that’s without Thornton, averaging 13.5 points and 7.3 rebounds before suffering a concussion.
The Wildcats will try to take advantage of his absence to extend their best start since beginning 23-0 in 1965-66. They’re four wins shy of tying the best in program history from 1953-54.
