In the early parts of the preseason, head coach John Calipari has the players focused on being “the best versions of themselves.”
But what does that mean exactly?
Basically, it means that he wants them to work on the skill sets that they’re best at in order to hide the ones they’re not so good at.
“One of the things we try to do is hide weaknesses,” Calipari said to a throng of reporters at Media Day on Wednesday. “I wouldn’t want a team in (the NBA) to know one of my players’ weaknesses until they sign the contract. You want them to do what they do well.”
