Former Wildcat and former University of Evansville men’s basketball coach Walter McCarty has been ordered to appear in a Vanderburgh County courtroom in October, according to public records.
McCarty failed to appear for an Aug. 20 court date in Vanderburgh County in a civil case filed by Old National Bank, court records state. The order to appear was issued June 19, giving McCarty two months to make arrangements.
McCarty, who was fired by the university amid a Title IX investigation in January, defaulted on a $75,000 “private select line of credit” issued to him by Old National Bank, according to court records. The credit line was created in October 2018.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
