Does anyone believe Kentucky basketball is ready for Duke after Miles College exhibition?

It’s difficult to find many in BBN excited about Kentucky’s prospects vs. Duke watching the Cats struggle to an 80-71 win over Miles College

So much for basketball entering its redemption season on a high note.

After an embarrassing 9-16 pandemic-altered season, ‘s No. 11-ranked Wildcats open the 2021-22 regular season Tuesday against No. 9 at Madison Square Garden in the Champions Classic.

It would be difficult to find many in Big Blue Nation excited about Kentucky’s prospects in that game after watching the Wildcats struggle to an 80-71 win over Division II in their final preseason exhibition Friday.

“I know where we are right now, and how hard it will be going forward, not just Tuesday, after Tuesday,” Calipari said after the game. “Coming back here and having teams that are veteran teams that are good too. So, we’re going to have to play better.”

Putting too much stock in preseason exhibition games is a dangerous proposition.
