Kentucky commit Shaedon Sharpe, a five-star shooting guard in the Class of 2022, will enroll at the school in January, he announced on Tuesday. He is ranked No. 1 in his class, per the 247Sports Composite Rating.
Sharpe made the announcement via social media, saying, “looking forward to joining the #BBN family.” The plan is for Sharpe to redshirt while taking in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign, but the possibility of the top hoops prospect suiting up for the Wildcats before season’s end isn’t out of the question, according to Sharpe’s grassroots coach and longtime adviser, Dwayne Washington.
Sharpe committed to Kentucky in early September over options such as Kansas, Oklahoma State, Arizona and going professional with the G League. He was John Calipari’s second commit of the 2022 class at the time, joining fellow five-star prospect Skyy Clark, who committed last October.
