Not many players can do what Sahvir Wheeler does

had six players in double figures in Friday’s 100-60 win over Robert Morris. Point guard was not one of them … and that was a good thing.

Instead of shooting, Wheeler distributed the ball and ran the offense with confidence and patience. He finished with 12 assists, three steals, and no turnovers in just 23 minutes after making seven turnovers in 38 minutes against Tuesday. He also had five points.

coach Andrew Toole says trying to slow down Wheeler or alter the way he plays is not easy to do.

“We weren’t able to do it, so obviously it was extremely hard,” Toole said. “He’s running it down your throat. The way that he pushes the ball down the floor just encourages all those other guys to run so hard because he’s so unselfish and he’s able to get them shots early in the offense.”
