On December 15, 1979, No. 5 Kentucky defeated No. 1 Indiana, 69-58.  Kentucky seniors Kyle Macy (12 points), Jay Shidler (11) and LaVon Williams (11) stood tall as the Cats took down freshman star Isiah Thomas (14) and the No. 1 Hoosiers before 23,798 in Rupp Arena.
