This Day in History: 2026-03-20

On March 20, 2026, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with Kentucky trailing Santa Clara by three and just 2.4 seconds left, Otega Oweh launched a 40-foot shot that banked in and tied the game at 73.  In overtime, the Cats  went on to win, 89-84. Oweh’s 35-point, 8-rebound, 7-assist line was something achieved previously only by legends such as Larry Bird, Bill Bradley, and Oscar Robertson.
