Former Cat Rajon Rondo receives the Red Auerbach Award

For Rajon Rondo, the 2009-10 season brought a five-year contract extension, his first All-Star selection and a bigger role than ever on a playoff-bound Boston team. And on Friday night, Rondo achieved another career milestone.  Prior to the Celtics’ game Friday night against the Wizards, Rondo was given the Red Auerbach Award, an annual honor bestowed upon the player who best exemplifies the spirit of a Celtic on and off the court. The award was first handed out in 2006, and past winners include Paul Pierce, Al Jefferson, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
