About Me

Walter, a lifelong Kentucky basketball fan, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. His family’s ties to the Commonwealth run deep—his father’s family were among the early settlers of Letcher County, Kentucky, where they made their home along Cornett’s Branch in Linefork. That sense of place, history, and tradition has been passed down through generations and continues to shape his lifelong passion for Kentucky basketball.  Walter launched WildcatWorld.com in 1998, making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites still active today. The site is dedicated to the history of the program, offering schedules and rosters from the earliest days of Kentucky basketball and a wide collection of detailed player biographies.

The video below was filmed in Baghdad, Iraq in 2005 by DVIDS (Defense Visual Information Distribution Service).  They film video and audio messages of deployed or stationed U.S. military service members that are sent home to families and local media outlets during the holiday season.  CPT Cornett gives a shoutout to the Wildcats:
