Former Cat Derrick Miller sentenced to prison in ticket scam

Derrick Miller

Former University of basketball player Derrick Miller has been sentenced to three years in prison in a basketball ticket scam.  The 42-year-old Miller was sentenced Monday in Fleming County Circuit Court. He’s been charged with similar offenses in at least 10 other counties. People charge that he took their money and promised tickets but never delivered.  The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Miller pleaded guilty to two counts of theft by deception in Fleming County and was ordered to pay restitution and sentenced to three years on each count. Fleming County Commonwealth’s Attorney Kathryn Hendrickson said the time will be served concurrently with any other sentence he receives in other counties.
