Former Cat Scott Padgett realistic about first coaching job

Scott Padgett knew taking an entry level job under Kentucky coach John Calipari likely could get him a chance to eventually be a full-time assistant coach. The former UK star, though, wasn’t sure it would happen quite as quickly as it did now that he has officially joined coach Barry Rohrssen’s staff at Manhattan. The Manhattan coach noted that Padgett had played for Jerry Sloan, Rick Pitino and Jeff Van Gundy and that his experience would be beneficial developing “post and front court players” at Manhattan.
