Joe B. Hall reunion and recognition ceremony scheduled for Saturday night

Saturday’s game will feature a reunion of over 40 former players to honor Joe B. Hall. The ceremony will celebrate Hall’s career, which included a national championship and three Final Four appearances, and coincides with the 25th anniversary of his retirement.

Saturday’s game will feature a reunion of over 40 former players to honor Joe B. Hall. The ceremony will celebrate Hall’s career, which included a national championship and three Final Four appearances, and coincides with the 25th anniversary of his retirement. Bob Guyette (Arizona) and Scott Courts (California) and Kevin Grevey (Washington D.C.) among those traveling great distances to visit coach. Players and Hall will be recognized at the game and visit with current Wildcats after the game according to organizer and ex-Cat Jerry Hale. Only two of Joe B’s boys are deceased. Bob Fowler passed away a few years ago and Mel Turpin this past summer.

Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.

On This Day in UK Basketball History

On January 2, 2010, freshman DeMarcus Cousins scored 18 points and matched a season-high with 18 rebounds to lead No. 3 Kentucky past rival Louisville 71-62.  Freshman John Wall scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half as the Wildcats (15-0) matched their best start in 40 years by breaking a two-game losing streak to the Cardinals. This would be the first of four consecutive victories for Calipari's Kentucky team over Pitino's Louisville program.
