Kentucky head coach John Calipari has added a ninth freshman to his 2013-14 roster. EJ Floreal will be a walk-on player for the Cats, according to Floreal’s Twitter page, @BouncyE_24. Floreal is the son of UK track and field head coach Edrick Floreal.
Before moving to Lexington in 2012 when his father joined UK, Floreal attended Palo Alto (Calif.) High School.
In addition to playing for the basketball team, Floreal also competed in track at Palo Alto and broke the school record for both the 100-meter (10.52 seconds) and the 2oo-meter (21.16 seconds) dash.
