Now that was the team everyone thought they were getting from the Kentucky Wildcats at the beginning of the season. Well, for the first half at least.
There was an efficient offense, one that featured the signature lob dunks of the 2011-12 national title team and smart 3-point shots. There was suffocating defense that stifled Ole Miss‘ top scorers and turned steals into easy transition baskets. And there was smiling, clapping and a sense that these Wildcats knew they were better than the other team and ready to step on the gas pedal.
For a while in the first half of Tuesday’s game at Tad Smith Coliseum, UK looked like a dominating team.
The Cats went on a 15-0 run midway through first half to take command of the game and a 42-25 lead into the halftime locker room.
