Son of John Calipari just wants to be a normal high school basketball player

Bradley Calipari wants to be just a normal high school basketball player. However, he gets a lot more attention than most players because he’s the son of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari.

The younger Calipari, a junior at the MacDuffie School in Granby, Mass., played in New York City for the second time this season at the Big Apple Basketball Invitational at Baruch College on Saturday.

MacDuffie lost to Life Center Academy of Burlington, N.J., 68-61. Calipari played sparingly and did not score in the game, which was tight until the final minute.

Afterward, he said he’s grown accustomed to the notoriety that comes with being the son of arguably the most popular college coach in the country.
