After three seasons at Kentucky, Dontaie Allen found a new school in the same state. At Western Kentucky.
“I’m excited for my new opportunity here at WKU,” Allen said.
The one-time Kentucky Mr. Basketball redshirted his first year at UK to recover from his ACL injury he suffered in high school at Pendleton County. Over his next two years, he appeared in 41 games and averaged just over 10 minutes of play.
The opportunity for a bigger role drew him to Bowling Green to play for Rick Stansbury.
“(Stansbury) wants me to be able to play all positions and that’s what I love because that’s how my game is,” Allen said. “I know he believes in my game. I believe in my game.”
