From the The Wildcat Tip-Off: Kentucky vs. Mississippi State, February 10, 1958:

The stumbling block of too much formidable competition ahead of him each year has cost Harold Ross the opportunity to blossom into the fine collegiate cager that most of his ardent sup-porters had predicted. The coaches agree that Harold very likely could do a better job if he had the opportunity to play regularly, but starting duty has to be won in practice and he has never quite showed enough to make the grade. Nevertheless, they take a good look at Ross every sea-son and never are hesitant to insert him into a tight game. He has a good shot from about any place on the court but is best with a jump shot.

Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
