Obituary – Nathaniel A. Buis, 75, Casey County News (March 8, 2000)

Nathaniel A. Buis, Fair Street, Liberty, died Thursday, March 2, 2000 at his home. He was 75.

Born in Casey County on Dec. 22, 1924, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Alice Hiter Buis.

He was a retired superintendent of the Casey County school system and a former principal at Middleburg and Casey high schools. He was also a coach at Liberty High School and a former basketball player at the University of Kentucky. He was a member of Liberty First Christian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie White Buis; two sons, Michael Buis of Cynthiana and Greg Buis of O’Nell, Neb.; a sister, Jerri Webb of Elizabethtown; and three grandchildren, Aaron D. Buis, Nathan P. Buis and Jennifer Rose Buis.

Funeral services were March 5 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Homer Hecht officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were T.M. Weddle, Tom Weddle, Curtis True, Wendell Delp, Dale Wolford and David McAnelly.
