The outcome of this one was never in question. Kentucky had the tallest man on the floor, 6-7 Alex Groza, who led all scorers with 14. UK had the quickest player as well, with speedy Ralph Beard pitching in 12. Baylor tried to slow the game down to no avail as the Cats raced out to an early 17-point lead. UK finished with a record 36 victories.
