The UK menâs basketball team checks in at No. 2 in the newly released Associated Press preseason Top 25. Â It marks the second time in the John Calipari Era that Kentucky ranks in the top 10 in the APâs preseason poll. The Cats checked in at fourth in Calipariâs inaugural year. Â It also marks the highest preseason ranking in the poll for the Cats since the 1995-96 team was tabbed No. 1 entering the season. Â Kentucky has been ranked in the APâs top five in the preseason 22 times and in the top three 14 times before.
