Terrence Jones is on the cover of Sports Illustrated

Terrence Jones is on one of five regional covers for Sports Illustrated’s basketball preview cover.  North Carolina’s Harrison Barnes, Connecticut’s Jeremy Lamb, Kansas’ Thomas Robinson and UCLA’s Reeves Nelson were the others.  UK was ranked No. 2 by SI. In its preview, SI writer Kelli Anderson examined the best-case scenario (“The young Wildcats live up to the hype and gel into an unstoppable force, shattering school records for blocks and three-pointers on the way to the NCAA title”)…

On February 7, 1970, Dan Issel made 23 field goals against Ole Miss for the most field goals made in a single game by a Kentucky player.

 

On February 7, 1970, Dan Issel scored 53 points in a 120-85 victory over Ole Miss. He didn't miss a shot from the free-throw line, going 7-of-7 while shooting a mind-blowing 23-of-34 from the field that night.  Issel also snagged 19 rebounds.
