Chuck Hayes’ fails physical exam, contract voided

Sad news out of Sacramento for former Cat Chuck Hayes. The Kings announced in a press release Monday morning that center Chuck Hayes, who the team recently signed to a free-agent contract, failed his physical exam and his contract has been voided. In his physical with the team, Hayes was found to have a heart abnormality in an echo stress test. He had undergone more testing before it was announced that the team would void the contract.

On March 16, 2003, after running the table in regular-season Southeastern Conference play, Kentucky defeats Mississippi State, 64-57, in the finals of the SEC Tournament to secure its 24th league tourney crown and complete a 19-0 season sweep of conference opponents. It marked the first time the feat had been accomplished in 51 seasons.
