Anthony Davis Leads No. 1 UK to 69-44 Win over Tennessee

Anthony Davis - photo by Regina Rickert | WildcatWorld.comFreshman Anthony Davis had 18 points, eight rebounds and seven blocked shots as top-ranked Kentucky beat Tennessee 69-44 on Tuesday night to extend the Wildcats’ home winning streak to 48 games.  Kentucky (22-1, 8-0 Southeastern Conference) got off to a sizzling start by hitting its first 11 shots over the opening 11 minutes as the Wildcats won their 14th straight overall in another dominating performance.

On This Day in UK Basketball History

On April 14, 2024, Mark Pope, a captain of the University of Kentucky’s 1996 National Championship team, is introduced as Kentucky’s new head basketball coach to a crowd of more than 15,000 fans inside of Rupp Arena. Pope replaces John Calipari, who left after 15 seasons at the helm of Kentucky basketball to become the head coach at Arkansas.
