Terrence Jones helps bring joy, new smile to UK fan ‘Stone Cold Willow’

Two days before Terrence Jones expects to hear his name called in the first round of the NBA Draft, he was helping put a giant smile on the face of a friend.  Literally.  With the aid of the now former Kentucky forward and his friends, William Bolden — a 22-year-old UK basketball “super-fan” who has developed a bit of a YouTube following with his Wildcats-oriented videos posted under his nickname “Stone Cold Willow” — received extensive dental work at no cost to him.  Included were two teeth pulled, 12 cavities filled and three new front teeth.

On March 21, 1930, a Freeport, Ill., high school coach named Adolph Rupp is named head basketball coach at the University of Kentucky.

 

On March 21, 1958, in the Wildcats’ first game in Freedom Hall and in front of 18,586 spectators, Vernon Hatton’s layup with 17 seconds left pushed the Wildcats past Temple, 61-60, and into the NCAA Championship game.

 

On March 21, 1976, UK wins its second NIT Championship by defeating North Carolina-Charlotte, 71-67 in New York.
