For the entire month of November, as Ryan Harrow struggled in the opener then missed 17 days and four games because of a mystery illness that has never been explained and a “family issue” that has remained equally unspecified, it was hard to imagine the sophomore point guard being a factor for the University of basketball team this season.

For most of December and now spilling into the new year, it’s been hard to imagine the Wildcats without Harrow. His turnaround has been dramatic and his emergence has given a sputtering young team hope that it can be better than its 4-3 start.

Harrow has been arguably the Cats’ best player over the past five games, averaging 15 points, 4.6 assist, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and just 1.4 turnovers per game. He’s hit 49.2 percent of his field goals and 46.7 percent of his 3-point tries in that span.
