Columbia‘s possessions were long. Kentucky‘s energy was short.
And so when he entered Wednesday night’s game at Rupp Arena, UK forward Trey Lyles was concerned primarily with providing a spark.
“I just tried to give the team energy,” Lyles said. “I saw that guys were kind of down a little bit.”
And though he didn’t have a big scoring night, Lyles had an impact on the Wildcats’ 56-46 win. He finished with seven points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
“Great motor,” UK coach John Calipari said. “Great motor.”
Kentucky needed some revving.
