The NBA announced today that Wizards guard John Wall has been named as a starter on the 2015 NBA All-Star team, and will represent Washington during the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend in New York. This marks the first career All-Star start for Wall and his second straight appearance in the midseason showcase.

Wall led all Eastern Conference backcourt players in NBA All-Star balloting 2015 presented by Sprint, finishing with 886,368 total votes.  He is the 11th player in franchise history to earn an All-Star start (and the first starter since Gilbert Arenas was voted in by the fans in 2007) and is the 28th player in franchise history to make the All-Star team.

“I am honored to be named as a starter by the fans and will be proud to represent them at All-Star Weekend,” said Wall. “Their votes represent the hard work that my teammates, our coaches and the entire organization have put in so far this season and the improvement we’ve had as a team.”
