
Kentucky rallied from a 22-point halftime deficit and got within one point late, but the Cats fell just short, losing to Notre Dame 64-63 on Saturday at Rupp Arena.
Olivier Sarr led the Cats with 22 points, while Brandon Boston Jr. and Terrence Clarke each had 14.
Kentucky (1-4) faced the largest home deficit in school history at the break, as Notre Dame held a 48-26 advantage. The Fighting Irish shot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the first half, racing to a 33-9 advantage.
But in the second half, the Irish went cold and Kentucky was able to take advantage. The Cats scored 16 in a row at one point, cutting a 53-33 Irish lead down to a manageable 53-49 lead.
