Dontaie Allen scored a career-high 23 points and Olivier Sarr had 14 points and 12 rebounds as Kentucky snapped a six-game losing streak by holding off Mississippi State 78-73 on Saturday night at Humphrey Coliseum.

Devin Askew had 11 points and six assists for the Cats, while Brandon Boston Jr. added 11 points.

Kentucky (2-6) had struggled from behind the arc all season, but the Cats hit 11 of 21 (52.4 percent) from long range in Saturday’s game, led by Allen’s seven of 11 performance.

Kentucky coach John Calipari was ejected after being issued consecutive technical fouls with 9:04 left in regulation and the Wildcats down 52-46 following Molinar’s jump shot. Allen sank 5 of his 3s following Calipari’s ejection.
