Kentucky Wildcats forward Shaedon Sharpe, 18, can apply for the 2022 NBA draft as an early-entry candidate, The Athletic confirmed.

Kentucky Wildcats forward Shaedon Sharpe, 18, can apply for the 2022 NBA draft as an early-entry candidate, The Athletic confirmed on Thursday.

Sharpe is formerly ESPN’s No. 1 prospect in the class of 2022. He turns 19 on May 30 and will be one NBA season removed from high school graduation, which makes him eligible for the NBA draft. Sharpe projects to be a potential top-five pick.

Sharpe began the current school year at Dream City Christian in Phoenix but had enough credits to graduate high school in October. He committed to Kentucky in September and enrolled early at the beginning of January. Sharpe has been practicing with the Wildcats but has yet to appear in a game.
