2 Aaron Bradshaw

Aaron Bradshaw was born on May 14, 2004, and played one season for the University of Kentucky during the 2023–24 campaign under head coach John Calipari. A 7-foot center from Roselle, New Jersey, who starred at Camden High School, Bradshaw arrived in Lexington as one of the nation’s most highly regarded recruits. A consensus five-star prospect and the No. 1 center in the 2023 recruiting class, he chose Kentucky over numerous national powers after helping establish Camden as one of the premier high school basketball programs in the country.

Bradshaw’s collegiate debut was delayed after offseason surgery to repair a foot injury suffered shortly after arriving on campus. He returned to action on December 2, 2023, against UNC Wilmington and quickly demonstrated the versatility that had made him one of the country’s elite prospects. In just his second collegiate game, he recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots in a victory over Penn for his first career double-double. He earned his first start three games later against ninth-ranked North Carolina, scoring 12 points and making two clutch free throws in the closing seconds to help secure an 87–83 victory over the Tar Heels.

As the season progressed, Bradshaw provided Kentucky with size, rim protection, and an emerging perimeter shooting threat. One of his most memorable performances came in a road victory at Florida, where he blocked a shot late in the game before knocking down a go-ahead three-pointer with 1:27 remaining to help lift the Wildcats to a dramatic comeback win. His play during that stretch earned him Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honors. He also reached double figures against Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State while continuing to improve following his return from injury.

Bradshaw appeared in 26 games, making 10 starts, and averaged 4.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.7 blocked shots while shooting 57.6 percent from the field. He finished the season with seven double-figure scoring games and one double-double, flashing the athleticism, mobility, and shooting touch that made him one of the nation’s premier recruits.

Following the 2023–24 season and the departure of Coach Calipari, Bradshaw entered the NCAA transfer portal and continued his collegiate career elsewhere. Although his time at Kentucky lasted only one season, he remained an intriguing talent whose freshman year was shaped by both recovery from injury and glimpses of the considerable potential that made him one of the Wildcats’ most celebrated signees in recent years.
