Jordan Burks was born on August 11, 2004, and grew up in Decatur, Alabama. He began his high school career at Heritage Christian and later played for Southern California Academy before emerging as a prolific scorer with Hillcrest Prep and Overtime Elite. Burks led Overtime Elite with 27.1 points per game in 2022–23, scored at least 20 points in all but one game and produced a season-high 42. A consensus three-star prospect, he chose Kentucky over Ole Miss, Oregon State and Georgia Tech.
The long, athletic forward spent the 2023–24 season as a reserve for John Calipari’s final Kentucky team. Burks appeared in 20 games, scoring 37 points and collecting 33 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field. Although his opportunities were limited, his versatility and potential were evident in productive stretches off the bench.
Burks delivered his most memorable performance as a Wildcat at Vanderbilt on February 6, 2024, making all six of his field-goal attempts and finishing with 13 points and five rebounds in a Kentucky victory. He entered the transfer portal following the season and continued his career at Georgetown and UCF, helping the Knights reach the 2026 NCAA Tournament before joining Oklahoma State for the 2026–27 season.
