Kentucky will be playing in its 21st Sweet Sixteen


After posting two of its most impressive displays this season in the first two rounds of the Tournament, the Wildcats make their 21st appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 taking on the Big Red.  The Wildcats earned a berth in the regional semifinals with a 90-60 win over Wake Forest in the second round in New Orleans.

On February 23, 2019, with an 80-53 victory over Auburn, 10th-year head coach John Calipari moves past Joe B. Hall for the second most victories by a UK head coach in program history. He trails only the Baron of the Bluegrass, Adolph Rupp.
