Kentucky freshmen lead AP All-America team

Kentucky’s John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins are the first freshmen teammates to be selected to The Associated Press’ All-America team.  The other players on the team announced Monday are Ohio State junior Evan Turner, Syracuse junior Wes Johnson and Villanova senior Scottie Reynolds.  This is the third time in four years two freshmen were on the team. Wall and Cousins are the ninth set of teammates. The last All-America teammates were Duke’s J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams in 2006.  Turner received all but one first-team vote. The 6-foot-7 point guard averaged 20.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists to lead the voting by the 65-member national media panel. Voting was done before the NCAA tournament.
