Melvin Turpin

A coroner’s report said former basketball star Melvin Turpin died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn had said Thursday that Turpin took his own life in his north Lexington house, but he didn’t say how. The report confirmed Friday that he died of a gunshot wound but gave no other information about the investigation, including whether he left behind a suicide note.
