Darius Miller prepares to play last game at Rupp after helping turn around program

Darius Miller - photo by Jim McIsaac | Getty ImagesNot much about the UK basketball program looks the same as when senior guard Darius Miller arrived on campus in 2008.   On Thursday, Miller will step on the Rupp Arena court for the final time.   “I can imagine it being emotional for me,” Miller said Wednesday. “I’ve had a lot of good memories, met a lot of great people, great coaching staff. I can imagine it being emotional for me.”

On This Day in UK Basketball History

On February 14, 1938, Joe Hagan’s 48-foot shot with 12 seconds left lifts the Wildcats over Marquette, 35-33. Then-Kentucky governor A.B. “Happy” Chandler sprinted onto the playing court at the final buzzer and drove a nail into the floor to mark the spot from which “Hagan’s heave” was launched.

 

On February 14, 2009, Jodie Meeks scored 45 points at Arkansas.
