Darius Miller’s status as a comparatively prehistoric ‘Cat — a senior at a program that has been a revolving door of freshmen the last three seasons — has been a source of mild amusement during Final Four week.  But the smiles on the faces of both Miller and his coach Sunday afternoon were those of satisfaction. Barring some catastrophic event, Miller, the only four-year senior on the roster, will break the Kentucky career record…

On This Day in UK Basketball History

On February 18, 1903, State College (Kentucky) records its first win, an 11-10 decision over Lexington YMCA. The Wildcats finished that first season with a 1-2 record.

 

On February 18, 1909, with a 28-23 win over Cincinnati, Kentucky clinched its first winning season in school history. Following a “Senior Day” loss to Central University, the Wildcats ended the year with a 5-4 record.

 

On February 18, 1950, Bill Spivey scored 40 points against Georgia Tech.
