Kentucky Wildcats show they can take a punch in physical win over Vols

The Kentucky Wildcats, arguably the most physical team in the nation, found itself in a “mud-wrestling match” on Saturday at Rupp Arena.

The bullies were getting bullied.

The Wildcats, arguably the most physical team in the nation, and certainly one of the best rebounding teams in the country statistically, found itself, to borrow a few words from John Calipari, in a “mud-wrestling match” on Saturday at Rupp Arena.

The No. 13/12 Wildcats were getting crushed on the boards, dominated in the paint and just pushed into the proverbial mud.

And yet, when it was all said and done Saturday and the final buzzer went off at Rupp Arena, , despite getting blasted on the glass 39-24 and surrendering 12 more points in the paint than it produced, did just enough to outlast what Coach Cal called a good team, 74-66.
