Cam’Ron Fletcher was born on July 10, 2001, to Tamika Fletcher and Michael Henderson. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, he starred at Vashon High School, where he helped lead the Wolverines to two Missouri state championships. A consensus four-star forward in the 2020 recruiting class, Fletcher was regarded as one of the nation’s top prospects after standout performances on the Nike EYBL circuit and at the NBPA Top 100 Camp.

Fletcher signed with Kentucky for the 2020-21 season as a 6-foot-6, 215-pound freshman forward. He appeared in nine games with one start, finishing the season with 15 points, 15 rebounds, five steals and three assists. His best performance came against Morehead State, when he scored a career-high nine points while adding three assists and a steal. He also grabbed a career-best six rebounds in his lone start against Richmond.

Before arriving in Lexington, Fletcher averaged 20.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game as a senior at Vashon. He was named the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 4 Player of the Year, earned all-state honors and helped his team reach the state semifinals before postseason play was canceled. Off the court, he was a member of the honor society, also competed in football and track, and credited his mother as his greatest influence.

Following his freshman season, Fletcher entered the NCAA transfer portal and continued his collegiate career at Florida State.
