From the 1952 University of Kentucky Basketball Media Guide:

Second tallest man on the team at 6’8″ . . . He’s being hand molded into a pivot man in much the same way that All-America Bill Spivey was four years ago . . . Rupp explains that the Cincinnati prospect, whose only experience prior to enrolling at Kentucky was YMCA games and about eight minutes total action as a third string senior center at Purcell High in Cincy, is very green—greener than Spivey ever was . . . But The Baron has confidence in the possibility that Dwyer can be developed in the same near-miraculous fashion that Spivey was.

Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
