Pine Crest star guard Brandon Knight moved alongside former prep greats LeBron James and Greg Oden Tuesday as the third two-time Gatorade National Player of the Year. Knight, ranked No. 1 in the 2010 class by Rivals.com, accepted the coveted award during a ceremony with a pep-rally type atmosphere inside a packed Pine Crest auditorium. Former Miami Heat all-star center Alonzo Mourning, who won the award in 1987-88, surprised Knight with the award during his second period class and then lauded Knight’s accomplishments during a heart-felt speech.
