On paper the University of Kentucky and University of North Carolina Alumni Game appeared to be a mismatch.
After all, the Kentucky roster had 10 players who are all currently on NBA rosters while North Carolina only had eight players overall, with current Golden State Warriors Harrison Barnes and James Michael McAdoo as the only players on an NBA roster.
The former Tar Heels fought hard, but DeMarcus Cousins scored 33 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to help the Kentucky alumni to a 122-115 win over North Carolina in a charity game that benefited 17 organizations.
The game raised more than $1.1 million for the Calipari Foundation with $1.5 million being the expected total after the Calipari Basketball Fantasy Experience auction.
