After showing flashes of brilliance as a freshman on the 2014-15 Kentucky team that started 38-0, it’s hard to have a better individual season than the one Tyler Ulis turned in as a sophomore.
In 2015-16, Ulis averaged 17.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals while breaking John Wall’s single-season assist record with 246 in helping lead the Wildcats to a 27-9 record, a share of the SEC regular season championship and the SEC Tournament title.
Ulis brought home the Bob Cousy Award as the nation’s premier point guard and was named a consensus First Team All-American, SEC Player of the Year, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, SEC Tournament MVP and First Team All-SEC.
