Anthony Davis wins first SEC Freshman of the Week honors

Anthony Davis - photo by Walter Cornett | WildcatWorld.comHere we go again.  One year after Kentucky tied the Southeastern Conference record for weekly awards in a season – which was set the previous season by UK – John Caliapri’s team is already collecting (figurative) hardware for the 2011-12 season.  The league tabbed UK forward Anthony Davis its SEC Freshman of the Week after posting a double-double (23 points and 10 rebounds) in the season opener against Marist. The 6-foot-10, 222-pound freshman from Chicago hit 10-of-13 shots, eight of which were dunks.
